In the undermentioned wild birds is highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N8 or HPAI H5N1 confirmed.
This list is based upon reports of the Dutch government to OIE this autumn/winter until November 17.
The dead wild birds were found in the provinces of Friesland, Groningen, North Brabant, North Holland, Utrecht, and South Holland.
H5N8 confirmed in:
- Ducks, geese, swans (Anatidae)
- Barnacle goose (Branta leucopsis)
- Mute swan (Cygnus olor)
- Greylag goose (Anser anser)
- Greater white-fronted goose (Anser albifrons)
- Bean goose (Anser fabalis)
- Eurasian wigeon (Anas penelope)
- Mallard(Anas platyrhynchos)
- Accipitridae
- Common buzzard (Buteo buteo)
- Owls(Strigidae)
- Short-eared owl (Asio flammeus)
H5N1 confirmed in:
- Ducks, geese, swans (Anatidae)
- Greylag goose (Anser anser)
- Eurasian wigeon (Anas penelope)
- Eurasian teal (Anas crecca)
- Plovers, lapwings (Charadriidae)
- Species not determined
